In winter
Welcoming Lakeford is situated in well-known holiday resort Tahko. It is also one of the Finland’s best downhill skiing centres. There are 23 various slopes with different levels of difficulty. There are also 14 ski lifts all around the slopes.
There is ski school at the Tahko where experienced skiing instructors are always at your service. You can also rent all the necessary skiing equipments from two rental shops. For children there is a kids’ slope and safe runner lift. Children under 7 years old can also ski free of charge. Lakeford guests can use free ski bus which runs daily according to schedule (about 10 minutes drive from Lakeford to the slopes).
Of course you can do many other things than downhill skiing, too. There are lots of ski tracks, skating rinks and ice tracks at the area of Tahko. You can also participate on snowmobile safaris, dog sled team- safaris or you can go ice fishing, shooting to shooting range or rock climbing. The staff of Lakeford is ready to help you arrange all these activities and make your holiday even more exciting.
In summer
In Lakeford you can get into romantic fairy-tale atmosphere. The North’s white nights amaze with their beauty and you can spend the Midsummer Night traditionally by going to sauna and grilling.
At Tahko there are also two great golf courses where you can spend your summer days. Tahko’s Old Course is situated only 3 kilometres and New Course 5 kilometres from Lakeford. Tahko Golf Club offers everything related to golf no matter if you are beginner or experienced golfer. You can also get golf equipments from these golf clubs.
You can leave reservation request to the reception and we book you a golfing time. You can do the request also before your arrival.
There is a riding club 850 meters from Lakeford where you can ride with horses and ponies. Both beginners and experts have their own programs starting from learning courses to riding camps. You can also participate to horse safaris.
If you hunger for something different and more exciting you can take part in bike trip, rock climbing, canoeing trip, beach buggy safari or paintball. You can also go fishing or even shooting to a shooting range. We are pleased to help you to arrange these activities!
Holiday by the Syväri Lake is stunning in summer. Lakeford offers water skis and rowing and motor boats for rent. You should not also forget the amazing possibility to go fishing. You can have your own personal fishing guide from Lakeford.

In autumn
In autumn Lakeford invites you with stunningly beautiful fall foliage. Forests are full of delicious berries and mushrooms. After a day full of picking berries or mushrooming it is wonderful to dive into a cool lake. The same activities, than in summer, like fishing and safaris, are of course also available.
Year-round
There is a spa in Tahko which serves you year-round. You can also go fishing year-round – just the style is different depending on the season. Lakeford’s VIP-sauna is also accessible around the year.
